Our recently arrived pygmy octopus has laid a cluster of tiny eggs. She was found by volunteer divers during the Harbour Clean-up "Eliminate to Educate" several weeks ago and has been settling in at the Bait House Aquarium since then.
We were surprised to look in her home one morning to see her carefully looking after about 150-200 eggs. Not much is known about pygmy octopuses because they're rarely seen.
If you want to find out more about her, come on down to the Bait House Aquarium any Sunday between 10am and 3pm. Entry for children is $2 and for adults $4.
