Two weeks ago, we collected a cluster of recently laid squid eggs from Worser Bay. After just over a week, we were surprised to see the first baby squid swimming around in its temporary home at the Bait House Aquarium.
By last Sunday, we had about a dozen of these incredibly delicate young roaring around their aquarium before swimming down our outfall drain and out into the Taputeranga Marine Reserve.
We still have plenty of young ones in the pre-hatching stage and invite you to come down to the Aquarium this Sunday to see these beautiful, miniature squid before they head out into the deep blue sea.
