Ozymandias the ''precocious'' octopus is a record-breaker after being possibly the first of his species to open a jar in under a minute.
And don't be put off by the name, Ozy is a Wellingtonian, albeit one sponsored by an expat Brit right now travelling through Mexico.
In front of a packed room at the Island Bay Marine Education Centre on Sunday, Ozy managed to open a closed jar to get at his breakfast, a purple shore crab.
While the feat is nothing new, a sub-60-second time was a first for the aquarium, marine centre Discovery Programme manager Julian Hodge said.
