Volunteer Registration and Emergency Contact Information

Welcome to the Island Bay Marine Education Centre. We’re a not-for-profit, educational facility based on the South Coast of Wellington.

We aim to give our visitors an opportunity to discover and learn about the marine environment and the amazing variety of life found on our doorstep and in Cook Strait.

For the past 25 years we’ve been able to do this through our hands- on experiences delivered by our experienced staff and knowledgeable volunteers.

Volunteers are the life blood of our organisation as it’s their passion and enthusiasm that helps us connect the public with the wild. Our volunteers’ range in age from a minimum age of 14 upward. They’re from many different backgrounds and with many varied skills.

The information you provide below helps us to better understand your interests and skills. It will also ensure that we have an emergency contact person to call if necessary.
